At Phoenix College, Tower Hamlets, we are dedicated to do all we can to help our students develop and succeed in their aspirations, enjoy their time at college and develop the important qualities they need to aid their preparation for adulthood.

We have 2 courses: Preparation for Adulthood (PFA) and Project SEARCH Supported Internship.

The Preparation for Adulthood Curriculum, is a three-year course, focusing on independence, employability, community participation, and health and wellbeing.

Through a personalised and inclusive curriculum, students gain practical experience, build confidence, and prepare for meaningful adult lives.

Strong partnerships with local employers and communities enhance real-world learning opportunities, helping each student achieve their aspirations and reach their full potential.

Project SEARCH at Phoenix College is a one-year, business-led supported internship programme for young people aged 17-25 with learning disabilities or autism.

It offers full workplace immersion through partnerships with employers like Queen Mary University, ISS, and Clyde & Co.

Interns complete three job rotations, receive daily employability lessons, and gain hands-on experience.

The goal is to transition into paid employment or apprenticeships, with support from Phoenix College and employment agencies throughout the academic year.
